Golden Retriever Superhero Saves Baby Koala’s Life

Dogs being superheroes is not only a figurative comparison for their incredible nature. They are really onto something. From sergeant psychics to cancer detectors, ‘superheroes’ sounds too small of a word for them.

With their over-the-chart loyalty, they are also considered as the man’s best friend. But, not only humans are blessed to have them around. The story we are going to show you below proves that dogs care about other beings too.

The story took place in Strathdownie, Western Virginia, Australia where Kerry McKinnon and her husband got surprised by their Golden Retriever dog, Asha. A very touching surprise! During winter, the temperatures in the morning could reach around 41F degrees. Because of the fur, a Golden Retriever’s coat is warm enough, however, it’s not the same case with baby koalas.

It all happened during a morning after the McKinnons woke up. They immediately spotted something really unusual on their porch.

According to News.com.au, it was Kerry’s husband who noticed it first and yelled out to Kerry to take a look. It was a tiny baby koala snuggling on top of Asha. Aww!

How the baby koala ended up on top of Asha is still unknown, but it is obvious that the dog’s caring spirit saved this little creature’s life from the low temperatures.

She kept looking back at the koala bear, but she wasn’t trying to get him off her or anything. She was happy to let him snuggle into her,” said Kerry. “I think dogs have that protective instinct. The koala didn’t want to leave Asha’s back. When we took the koala off to wrap it in a blanket, it hissed at me and carried on

she continued.

We are very happy Asha saved this adorable tiny creature’s life. This is just a reminder of how lucky you are if you have a bundle of fur with four legs in your home. A trusty companion and a true blessing!
