Man Adopts Every Single Overlooked Animal From Shelter
Pets come in different sizes and shapes, and despite their own unique quirks, they all deserve a good home and a loving family. While many do find warmth and happiness, some animals are repeatedly overlooked because of certain traits and reasons.
According to Four Paws International, overlooked or ‘less adoptable’ animals are animals with special needs, senior pets, and black animals. These types of animals are often ignored and may spend the rest of their lives in a shelter. Fortunately, there are still many true animal lovers, who instead of pets, decided to overlook these unique features they may have.
One of these wonderful persons is Steven Grieg, a Colorado-based animal lover who has always opened up his home to pets in need. Since very young, he was surrounded by many pets in his home. This lead him to take in many pets in need. Typically, he had 3-4 dogs at a time, but sadly, a few months ago, one of his dogs passed away. Devastated about the loss, he decided to do something in honor of his doggie’s memory.
So he went to his local shelter and searched for their “least adoptable” dog as he wanted to give this dog a second chance.
“So [I adopted] a 12-year-old Chihuahua [named Eeyore] with a heart murmur and four bad knees and I brought him home and that was just the beginning of all the animals,”Steve spoke for The Dodo.
But, that was not all. Steve continued to take on more animals in need. Since then, he also has taken in 2 pigeons as well as 2 ducks.
But, wait! We’re not over with Steve’s adoptions yet. He also opened up his home to a homeless bunny rabbit that he found hopping around in his front yard. And, yes, they all do get along very well with each other.
It’s always heartwarming to hear such stories and see so many animals get sheltered, despite their disabilities or unique treats.
Let Steve be an example of overlooking physical traits and offering unconditional love to every animal!
